OriginLab Releases New Data Analysis and Graphing Software, Origin 2025
Slicer: Graph-based Data Filtering; Recent Origin Files Browser; Time Series Pivot; Custom Report Style; Graph Styles; Notes Window Preview; Batch Processing: Dialog to build Summary Sheet; and new graph types and apps.
NORTHAMPTON, Massachusetts. Nov. 12, 2024 – OriginLab, a leading publisher of data analysis and graphing software, today announced the release of Origin® and OriginPro® 2025. This latest version of OriginLab’s award-winning software application adds 100+ new features and improvements, plus a suite of all-new Apps to extend Origin’s graphing and analysis capabilities.
Origin 2025 introduces a new Graph Slicer for graph-based data filtering. Explore and compare data by applying filters directly on graphs, without changing the source data in the worksheet. Filters can be added to the graph’s page, layer, or plot level, and are controlled by the new left Slicer panel for easy manipulation. All data in the graph must be from the same worksheet.
Access Recent Files more readily in the new Recent Origin Files Browser. This Browser lists recently opened/saved projects, graphs, and workbook files locally and on the Cloud. Improvements allow users to: Search file name/path; Select multiple files to open or projects to append; Clear files from the list; and Customize the File: Recent Projects fly-out menu.
Time Series analysis was significantly improved in version 2024b and continued in this version with Time Series Pivot support. Summarize data by date/time intervals and period with features such as: Row-wise, Column-wise, or Row+Column-wise aggregation; Two level grouping by setting aggregation interval and time period; Fiscal year support with customizable start and end; and more.
Origin 2025 pre-ships with new Custom Report Style and Graph Styles to choose from to quickly change the look of your report or graph. Users can easily edit/customize these Styles or create their own. Apply a new style to all report sheets in a project or to multiple graphs in a folder or project.
A Notes Window Preview is now supported to offer a side-by-side view of a Notes’ source code and rendered view. Users can toggle the Preview window on/off or refresh with Hotkeys, as well as drag the Preview out of Origin or even to a 2nd monitor as a floating window, for easy viewing.
Batch Processing is improved with a new Dialog to interactively build a Summary Sheet for batch analysis. Users can click on desired report sheet values to automatically add links to the list, as well as edit/reorder items in the list. Links to cell values, labels and embedded graphs are now supported.
New Graph Types include Variability Chart, Multi-Vari Chart, CUSUM Chart, Probability Plot: Support multiple datasets/groups, Dot Plot, and Polar Heatmap.
New Apps available for 2025 include Decision Tree Analysis, Partial Least Squares-Discriminant Analysis, Batch Peak Integration, Export Worksheets and Matrices to mat, Text to Columns, IIR Comb Filter, Random Sample, Design of Experiments (Update: Definitive Screening Design), Poincare Plot (Update: Multiscale Plots), Perkin Elmer Data Connector, XRDML Data Connector. All apps are available at no extra charge from Origin’s in-software App Center. Apps allow Origin users to customize their software, choosing only desired tools from an ever-expanding list of Apps.
